Manage scheduled bills and income
Create a repeating schedule and distinguish entering an occurrence from paying a bill.
Overview
A schedule describes expected withdrawals or deposits on repeating dates. It supports Cash Flow and reminders. Neither saving a schedule nor entering one of its occurrences pays a bill, sends money, or confirms bank clearance.
Create a schedule
- In Scheduled payments, choose Add New.
- Select the account, payee, direction, amount, and category.
- Set the first payment date, frequency, and any repeat interval or series end.
- Check Next occurrences. Correct any date and frequency mismatch before saving.
- Decide whether to enable automatic ledger entry, then save.
Automatic ledger entry allows the application's background processing to enter eligible occurrences. Days before payment date controls how early they become eligible: zero means the payment date. Entry depends on server processing being enabled and running; it is not a bank payment service.
Enter or skip one occurrence
Use Enter on an active schedule to review and record an occurrence in the register. Review its date and amount before confirming. The saved link lets projections recognize that the occurrence has already been entered.
Use Skip when one occurrence should not be entered. Skipping one occurrence does not deactivate the whole series or cancel a bank instruction. Use the schedule editor's Deactivate action to stop the series from being active.
Troubleshooting
None upcoming can mean the series end or occurrence count has been reached. Check the preview rather than assuming the schedule is missing. Changing a repeating rule does not rewrite already-entered ledger payments. Read any warning about affected skipped or changed occurrences before discarding those exceptions.
