Novice Money EULA / Terms of Use
Version 2026-09-26.1. Published September 26, 2026.
These terms govern your use of Novice Money. The separate Privacy Notice explains how information is handled. Accepting these terms is not consent to optional email reminders or to every possible use of your information.
Use of the application
You may use the application to manage records you are entitled to access, subject to these terms and applicable law. Do not access another person's account without permission, bypass access controls, misuse invitations, or disrupt the service. These terms do not transfer ownership of the application or of another person's records to you.
Account and household responsibilities
Keep your sign-in details and recovery methods secure and your account contact information accurate. Only upload information you have authority to use. Before inviting someone, consider that household access allows members to see financial records and, depending on their role, change or export them. Owners control household access. Do not grant Owner access unless you understand the deletion consequences below.
Household sharing is not a private copy for each member. A member may retain an export outside the application; changing access cannot retrieve copies already obtained.
Permanent removal and shared records
Deleting your application account permanently purges every household where you are an Owner, including households with other Owners. All members, including co-owners, lose access to those household financial records. Other members' application accounts and unrelated households are not deleted.
If you are only an Editor or Viewer in a household, deleting your account removes your access but preserves that household's financial records for its other members. These rules apply to every household membership, not just the household currently selected.
Removal is permanent and has no in-app undo. Review the affected households and arrange any authorized export before confirming. Deleting financial data while keeping an account is different from deleting the account: information needed for sign-in and security remains. The removal review must identify the action and affected records before approval.
These consequences describe application removal, not an assurance of immediate erasure from recovery backups, email providers, or copies held by other people. See the Privacy Notice's retention and removal section for those limits and contact us about a deletion request.
Financial records and service limitations
Novice Money is a recordkeeping and planning tool, not a bank, payment service, or financial, investment, tax, or legal adviser. Recording or posting a transaction or scheduled payment does not move money or execute a bank payment. Check actual balances, payment completion, imports, and forecasts against your financial institution's records.
Forecasts depend on the records and assumptions supplied and are not promises of future balances. Errors, interruptions, and unavailable features can occur. Keep independent copies of important records and do not rely on the application as your only record of an obligation or payment.
Ending access and changes
You may stop using the application and request removal. Access may be restricted to address unauthorized use, security incidents, misuse, or legal requirements. Loss of access does not by itself mean all stored information has been erased.
Published terms carry a version and date. Account settings show the last version you explicitly accepted. A later version requires a new affirmative acceptance to update that record; viewing a page or continuing to use an existing account does not create a new acceptance record.
Your rights and contact
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including consumer and privacy rights. These terms do not require you to waive those rights.
